This Doesn’t Seem Like You

There is never a moment in life when you will have all the correct data and analytics and facts to make the most secure or safe or guaranteed decision about the future. There is always risk. But that should never be an excuse not to try something new. To reinvent and rediscover, to challenge and improve not only yourself, but the community and country you live. And as that future grows shorter, the more you will want to make it meaningful.

“From where I’m coming from, I was not allowed to fail. So, for me as an investor, as a part of the ecosystem, excellence for me is progress. And progress consists of a lot of failures. If you’re moving, everything is good.”

“If you can help the person with the most problems, you’re going to help everyone up stream. Don't just help the person who has the easiest problem to solve. Empathy is to help those that need the help the most. I hope to bring that to everyone we work with at Renew, from our investors to our founders.”

"We’ve been taught to be resilient, to move forward at all costs. I think that is something that we naturally do. We don’t have to give up our mental health or our wellbeing for the sake of building our companies. Take a step and take a breath, there are tons of people out there like you. Let’s find community, let’s be with each other, let’s talk about it. Don't give up your wellbeing.”

I believe that we all deeply wish to (consciously or not) integrate our work and relationships and time and efforts with what we fundamentally believe to be True about the world and our purpose within it. For me this has meant developing a Theology of Work/Investment/Impact to marry my profession to the larger story into which I feel called.
